ROTHBURY — Charges are pending stemming from an assault that occurred Monday afternoon, Aug. 17, in the parking lot at the Wesco convenience store, according to the Hart post of the Michigan State Police.
The police report has been forwarded to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review. In addition to an assault charge, a charge of driving while license suspended (DWLS) is also pending, police said.
Police had few details Tuesday morning, Aug. 18, but stated that the assault occurred between two male subjects. The victim was checked out by emergency personnel at the scene but was not transported by ambulance to the hospital, MSP stated.
Central Dispatch reported that a subject was knocked unconscious when the assault occurred, but was conscious at the time the 911 call was made. Oceana EMS and Grant First Responders were dispatched to the scene. No other information was immediately available.
