PENTWATER — Beautiful, sunny weather drew hundreds of beach goers to the 42nd Annual Pentwater Sand Sculpture Contest at Charles Mears State Park during the village’s Homecoming celebration Friday, Aug. 14.
A total of 53 sculptures and 146 participants competed in the event.
Homecoming, which is the village’s largest celebration of the year, continues Saturday with the Grand Parade at 4 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. This year is the 85th annual event.
The Marine Corps League Pancake Breakfast at the Pentwater VFW is set for Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. Detailed event schedule here.
