Laser pointed at helicopter

OCSO cruiserGOLDEN TWP. — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a green laser light that was pointed at a helicopter near Upper Silver Lake early Thursday morning, Aug. 13, but deputies were not able to locate the alleged culprit.

“This morning at 12:25 a.m., Central Dispatch gave our deputies information that an individual from Lockheed Martin Flight Control had called in stating that a pilot of a helicopter in the area of Arrowhead Drive near Upper Silver Lake had been shined with a green laser light, and they were requesting some enforcement,” said OCSO Lt. Craig Mast. “Our deputies patrolled the area and were unable to ever locate the person shining the green laser light.”
