190 pot plants, 9 pounds, 2 guns seized in SSCENT bust; 67-year-old Hart man arrested

SSCENTWEARE TWP. — A 67-year old Hart man was arrested for a felony of manufacturing marijuana after members of the State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Madison Road Friday, Aug. 7.

“During the execution of the search warrant, SSCENT detectives seized approximately 190 marijuana plants, approximately nine pounds of processed marijuana, and two firearms,” states a SSCENT press release issued Tuesday, Aug. 11. Joseph Raymond Kokx was lodged in the Oceana County Jail following his arrest, and additional arrests are pending, according to SSCENT.
