27th Circuit Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced this week in 27th Circuit Court:

– Benjamin Perez, 52, of 7493 S. 64th Ave., Montague, was found guilty June 22 of weapons/firearms – possession by a felon. He was sentenced Aug. 3 to 30 days discretionary jail with credit for one day served; $1,000 restitution to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR); and $500 in fines and costs. One count of hunting deer without a license dismissed.

– Robert Bernard Moore, 42, of 2412 W. Cleveland Rd., New Era, pleaded “no contest”

June 22 to assault with a weapon. He was sentenced Aug. 3 to six months discretionary jail with credit for two days served; serve 60 days forthwith; must report Aug. 16; 18 months probation; and $500 in fines and costs. A second count of assault with a weapon, as well as one count of reckless driving and one count of failure to report an accident, were dismissed.
