HART — “Hallack Contracting should complete the remaining water main connections at Peach Street and Hart Public Schools and additional storm sewer replacement by Friday, Aug. 7.” states Hart City Manager Stan Rickard in this week’s newsletter regarding the Johnson/Water Street Project.
“City electric, Charter cable and Frontier telephone are concurrently performing relocations, which may result in short outages. New street lighting will be constructed by a subcontractor to Hallack Contracting later in August.
“Road construction will commence on or about Monday, Aug 10, with grading, curbs and sidewalks. The Water Street (Johnson to Lincoln) road surface will be milled off soon in preparation for resurfacing.
“The underground work is about 10 days beyond the original construction schedule primarily due to extra work added to the project, including sanitary and storm sewer replacement and additional water main testing.
“Sidewalks are still closed, so use extreme caution when using the road right-of-way to access property. Conditions are very dangerous due to ongoing excavations and grading that changes the terrain daily.
“Please contact City Hall (873-2488) if you have questions or concerns about the project.”
