WEARE TWP. — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a breaking and entering of a trailer that occurred on a parcel of private property on 88th Avenue, just south of Jefferson Road, said OCSO Lt. Craig Mast.

“Our deputies were sent to that area to meet with the property owner. He stated that the latch had been broken off the trailer,” Mast said. The incident was just reported, although it was believed to have occurred some time between July 25 and July 28.

Two generators were stolen, along with two one-gallon gas cans full of gas and a 12-volt deep cycle Die Hard battery, Mast said.

One of the generators is a red 3000-watt Honda valued at $2,000, and the other is a red 6500-watt Generac with a black gas tank valued at $350. They are described as “almost new,” Mast said.

Neither generator has wheels, so they required two or more people to pick them up, the lieutenant said. The Generac was secured to the floor with leg screws, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 231-873-2121.
