HART –The case against a 45-year-old Hesperia man who was arrested by the State Sheriffs’ Chiefs’ Enforcement Narcotics Team (SSCENT) last June following a meth lab bust at his Newfield Township home is set for trial.

Leon Stanek, of 2909 S. Lakeview Dr., refused a plea offer by the prosecution and will go to trial, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, facing felony charges of providing a structure to manufacture methamphetamine and possessing chemicals/laboratory equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine. Both charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.
