Hesperia man pleads guilty to tire iron assault

HART — A 23-year-old Hesperia man pleaded guilty in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Aug. 3, to assault with a dangerous weapon stemming from an incident last June when he threatened and assaulted a male victim with a tire iron in Greenwood Township.

Simon Gabriel Saldana of 6415 E. Garfield Rd., pleaded guilty to the four-year felony in exchange for the dismissal of one count of domestic violence and one count of second-offense habitual offender.

Saldana was remanded back to the Oceana County Jail awaiting his Sept 28 sentencing. He is lodged on a $10,000/cash/surety bond.
