Windy day yields a pair of eagles

SHELBY — Paul Sommerfield and Gary Babinec eagled at Oceana Golf Club Sunday, Aug. 2.

Sommerfield used a driver, eight iron and putter to eagle the fifth hole after knocking it to about four feet. The eagle on the 507-yard par-five was witnessed by Richard Kriesel and Steven Hlady.

Babinec eagled the 18th hole using a driver and putter on the 242-yard par-four hole.  The feat was witnessed by Ron Loudermilk, Gary Blohm and Lee Hendrixon.
