HART — Residents can expect “intermittent water outages” during the current phase of the Johnson/Water Street project, states Hart City Manager Stan Rickard in a “special edition newsletter” issued Thursday, July 23.

“Water main testing is nearly complete. When ready, Hallack Contracting will begin tying the new main to the existing water system; and connecting water service lines to the new main. There will be intermittent water outages during this phase,” Rickard writes.

“The affected areas are as follows: Johnson between State and Water; Church between Courtland and Water; Courtland between Church and Jefferson; and Water between Lincoln and Wood.

“When water service is restored, you may notice some discoloration. Please flush ALL water lines in your home until clear; and avoid the laundry if possible. Homes adjacent to the aforementioned area may also be affected. Finally, we will notify residents on West Johnson near Riverside, Orchard and Peach when their neighborhood will be affected.

“Please contact city hall (873-2488) if you have questions or concerns about the project.”
