GRANT TWP. —  Evan Lyle Jensen of South Dakota, the 21-year-old Electric Forest Festival goer reported missing Monday June 29, has contacted his family, the Hart post of the Michigan State Police reported Wednesday, July 8.

MSP issued a statement, July 1, that Jensen was considered missing by his own volition.

Jensen was last seen packing up to leave the festival at 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 29 – the day after the four-day festival ended. He was traveling with a large group who had planned to leave together at 6 a.m.

“The group searched for him until the gates were closed and then began notifying police and checking hospitals,” according to an email OCP received Tuesday, June 30, from Sheila Larson of Lake Preston, South Dakota. “Family and friends are worried sick.”
