Garza hits first ace

July 6, 2015

Garza, IsaacSHELBY — Isaac Garza of Hesperia scored his first career hole in one Sunday, July 5, at Oceana Golf Club. Garza used an eight iron to ace the 163-yard par-three hole #17.

“I saw it hit the green and roll up to the cup,” said his brother Joseph Garza.  “I turned to Isaac and said ‘I think it went in.’”

The acer said he was sure it rolled off the back of the green, but when he looked into the hole, there it was. “I was shocked and speechless — it feels great. Too bad I didn’t play better, but a ‘one’ is a ‘one,’ and I still can’t believe it went in,” said the jubilant Garza. The shot was also witnessed by his father, Tony Garza.

Congratulations, Isaac!
