City awarded for State Street project

HART — The City of Hart and engineering firm, Prein & Newhoff, were recently awarded a Quality of Life Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for last summer’s State Street Bridge project.

The project rebuilt the portion of State Street that crosses Hart Lake; re-surfaced the bridge; and provided residents on the north end of the city with a new public drinking water source. The project also included installation of a new underground electrical transmission line to increase the reliability of its electrical grid. Sidewalks and street lighting were also enhanced.
