– Saturday, July 4, at dusk in downtown Hesperia.

Hart Sparks attendees can take fun and creative photos in front of backdrops with photo props. There are crowns for kids to wear in their photos with the newly-crowned asparagus royalty. Participants are encouraged to upload their photo creations to ‪#‎hartsparks2015‬ and on the Hart Sparks Facebook Page.

Games and festivities take place at the Hart Commons overlooking Hart Lake. This year’s musical talent is the award-winning Grand Rapids bluegrass/rock band, Potato Moon. The group has expertly combined elements of bluegrass, pop, swing, rock, country and blues, spotlighting frontman Ben Stancil’s talented songwriting. Along with dad, bassist Phil Sr., and brother, lead guitarist Phil Jr., Potato Moon is led by Ben Stancil and his sisters, Jane and Laura. The mostly-family band has recorded several albums over the years, earning widespread fame and recognition and is a renowned winner of the Jammie awards from community radio station WYCE-FM. The group has played sold-out shows and festivals, and will make its debut in Hart Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s fireworks display at John Gurney Park promises to be the biggest and best yet. Several local restaurants will offer outdoor seating for fireworks viewing.
