78th District Court sentencings

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court

– Bryan Lawrence Rhanor, 45, of 202 Dryden St., Apt. D, Hart, was found guilty June 15 of breaking and entering – illegal entry. He was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for 24 days served; $150 in fines and costs; 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; and credit for time served if imposed.
– Colin Ray Bush, 31, of 2725 Forrest St., Lot 16, Rothbury, was found guilty June 15 of disorderly person – drunk. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $450 in fines and costs. One count of weapons – firearms under the influence was dismissed. Court-ordered firearm to be returned to defendant.
– Jason Allen Sayles, 33, of 5281 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty June 15 of operating a motor vehicle without security. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $100 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and one count of license/documents/plates forgery were dismissed.
– Travis Lee Smallegan, 40, of 4535 N. 68th Ave., Hart, was found guilty June 15 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Katelynn West, 18, of 2265 S. 186th Ave., Hesperia, pleaded no contest June 15 to assault and battery. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; anger management classes; no contact with the victim; $800 in fines and costs; no to purchase/possess a firearm; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to counseling, searches and testing by probation officer.
– Shawn Dee Mechaney, 49, of 237 6th Ave., Apt. 425, Manistee, was found guilty June 15 of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC). She was sentenced to 75 days in jail; 180 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; take name off title within 30 days or immobilize within 90 days; and $450 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Heather Jean Hoekman, 29, of 5122 Osmun St., Montague, was found guilty June 15 of operating with a high BAC. She was sentenced to nine days in jail; 180 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; six months probation; outpatient treatment; not to purchase/possess a firearm; no alcohol/drugs; subject to counseling, testing and searches by the probation officer; and $1,780 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
