Bus vs. power pole crash

HART — A school bus with no occupants took a little “joy ride” Tuesday afternoon, May 26, when it rolled out of the Hart Public Schools bus garage gate, crossed the street, and struck a power pole at the corner Johnson and Peach streets, Hart Police Chief Dan Leimback said.

The bus driver exited the bus and “forgot to set the parking brake,” Leimback said. The power pole cracked, and Hart Hydro was called to the scene. No one was injured, and no damage was the done to the bus in the 2:35 p.m. collision, he said.

– 3:10 a.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, M-20 and 112th Ave., Shelby Twp.

– 10:45 a.m., (MSP), pedestrian in the freeway, US-31 and Log Rd., subject was cited and released.

– 9:45 p.m., (HPD), a 35-year-old Montague man was arrested for domestic violence, Jefferson and State streets.
