OCSO cruiserGOLDEN TWP. — A 20-year-old Detroit man “with no movement to his limbs,” police said, was airlifted to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids following a crash at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Thursday, May 21, at 4:52 p.m.

Treyvon Barney Khalil was operating a 1997 Yamaha Banshee quad between the south and north flats “at a high rate of speed,” the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report states. “The quad was traveling south bound. As the quad crested the hill, it became airborne, and it landed on the left rear tire. The driver was thrown from the quad. The quad then rolled over the driver before coming to rest south of the driver.”

Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash, the report states.

Oceana County EMS and the Hart Area Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene.
