Oceana man found dead on park bench; drugs may be to blame

muskegon-police-badge1MUSKEGON – An Oceana County man was found dead on a park bench near Moon Elementary School Sunday afternoon, May 3, according to mlive.

The death appears to have been caused by a possible drug overdose, and an autopsy is pending, police told mlive.

The man was found at 2:44 p.m. in the 1800 block of Hoyt Street.

Medical first responders began CPR at the scene when the man was found not to be breathing, mlive reports. There were no obvious signs of trauma, and evidence at the scene indicates the man was likely using narcotics, according to mlive. An investigation is being conducted to find the source of where the man obtained narcotics. Additional information will be released when more details are available. Police did not specifically state which drug may have been associated with the man’s death.
