Driver receives minor injuries in rollover crash

BENONA TWP. — A 37-year-old New Era man received minor injuries in a rollover crash on Stony Lake Road near 48th Avenue Monday, April 27, shortly after 3 p.m.

The Chevy Trailblazer the man was driving flipped over three times and came to rest on the north side of the road after the man attempted to pass a tractor that was turning left into a field, troopers from the Hart post of the Michigan State Police at the scene stated. The 22-year-old man driving the tractor, who was not injured, said the Trailblazer clipped the tractor’s front wheel. Both vehicles were eastbound on Stony Lake Road.

The injured driver was transported by Oceana EMS to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby for cuts and bruises, troopers said.

Grant Township Fire Department was initially dispatched to the scene, but cancelled shortly afterwards.
