Chase suspect arraigned on numerous charges

HART — A 32-year-old Montague man was arraigned in 78th District Court Monday afternoon, April 20, on numerous charges stemming from a police chase Sunday afternoon, April, 19 in Grant Township.

Ronald Hunter has been charged in Oceana County with fleeing and eluding police; felonious assault; malicious destruction of police property and operating under the influence of drugs. His bond was set at $15,000/10 percent, and he remains lodged in the Oceana County Jail, stated Lt. Craig Mast of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunter allegedly stole a pickup truck in Montague, which he struck a sheriff’s patrol car with during the chase and rolled it over after striking a utility pole. He will face charges in Muskegon County for the stolen vehicle, Mast said.
