The woman, who was southbound on Oceana Drive in a four-door Ford Taurus, lost control of the car on the rain-slicked roadway and struck an oncoming trailer being pulled by a DTE Energy vehicle, Oceana County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene said. The woman was apparently attempting to slow down for a vehicle in front of her that was turning, police said, and she told police that her brakes locked up. The woman, who was wearing her seatbelt, received minor injuries in the crash and did not seek further treatment. No citations were issued, deputies said.

Oceana County EMS, Grant Township Fire Department and the Hart post of the Michigan State Police assisted OCSO at the scene. The Taurus, which was towed by Gundy’s Garage & Towing, was totaled, according to towing personnel.
