27th Circuit Court

HART — The following were sentenced Monday, April 13, in 27th Circuit Court:

Steffes

– Michael Lee Steffes, 46, of 5451 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty Feb. 17 of third-offense operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL). He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for one day served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with six months forthwith; $750 in fines and costs; and driver’s license revoked.

guilty Feb. 19 of welfare fraud, failure to inform $500 or more. He was sentenced to 11 months in jail with credit for one day served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with six consecutive weekends forthwith beginning April 17; $2,800 in restitution; $198 in fines and costs; one year probation; must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license or a personal identification card issued by the Secretary of State; must not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not associate with any known felons; must not change residence without prior written permission; and must allow field agent into residence at any time.

78th District Court

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Darin Colt Cunningham, 32, of 5703 E. Loop Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty April 13 of driving while license suspended (DWLS). He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of second-offense DWLS dismissed.

– Edward James Cantu, 32, of 1507 E. Mill Rd., Hart, was found guilty April 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense DWLS dismissed.
