HART — The 42-year-old Rothbury man accused of the love-triangle crash March 8 near Rothbury who did not appear for a pretrial hearing earlier this month in 27th Circuit Court has “presented himself” and did not jump bail as officials had earlier believed, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joe Bizon Monday, April 13.

“There was a miscommunication that he needed to be there,” Bizon said. Robert Benard Moore is set for a pretrial hearing May 5 at 9 a.m.

Moore faces two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon; one count of reckless driving; and one count of leaving the scene of an accident after backing his vehicle into a car transporting a man, March 8, with whom he was allegedly fighting over the same woman.

Judge Anthony Monton ordered that a bench warrant be issued for Moore’s arrest after being informed, April 2, that he had jumped bail and increased his bond to $50,000/cash/surety. In light of the new information, Moore’s original bond was reinstated.
