April 6, 2015

GOLDEN TWP. — An 18-year-old Holland man was transported by Aeromed to Spectrum Health hospital in Grand Rapids Saturday, April 4, at 6:19 p.m. after he lost control of the off-road vehicle he was operating at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, which landed on top of him and possibly broke his leg.

Aeromed landed at the Cornerstone Community Church in Mears to transport Timothy Michael Etts to Spectrum. Etts was driving a 2013 Can Am Renegade, which is a four-wheeler, when he “lost control of the vehicle while going over a small hill. The vehicle overturned, end over end, ejecting the driver,” the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report states. “The vehicle then landed on top of the driver. The driver sustained a possible broken femur.” Oceana County EMS transported Etts to the landing zone at Cornerstone, where he was then airlifted to Spectrum.
