MANISTEE TWP. (Manistee Co.) — The Home Builders Association of West Michigan will hold its annual Home and Garden Show this weekend at a new venue. Over the past several years, the show has been at the Mason County Fairgrounds in Pere Marquette Township. This year’s venue will be the Little River Casino Resort north of Manistee.
“Originally the show was held at West Shore Community College,” said HBA board member Joe Knowles. “That was a great venue. But, the college changed its policies and the place was no longer available to us. We then moved the show to the fairgrounds. The building we used was a great space, except it was not heated.”
Knowles said the lack of heating meant the show needed to be moved to a date later in the spring. However, people like to plan for their outdoor projects earlier in the year, he said.
“We are excited about this new location,” he said.
The show will feature booths from area builders, landscapers, lumber companies and other businesses that cater to the building and gardening industries.
“It’s a place for people to go if they are looking to hire someone for a project or if they are just looking for ideas for a project,” Knowles said.
Ticket prices for admission are: Adults, $3 or two for $5, children under 15 are free. The show will be held at the Three Fires Conference Center. It will be held Friday from 1 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m
