27th Circuit Court sentencings: convicted pot dealer appears via video from prison

HART — A 26-year-old Grand Rapids man currently serving two prison terms for delivery/manufacture of marijuana in a Michigan Department of Corrections prison appeared in 27th Circuit Court this week via video conferencing for his sentencing on another drug conviction.

John Allan Denherder, who is currently lodged in the Charles Egeler Reception & Guidance Center in Jackson, was convicted in Oceana County, Jan. 5, of controlled substance – possession of a non-narcotic/analogues. He is currently serving two concurrent terms of three years, 10 months to 15 years for controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of marijuana for Jan. 13 convictions in Kent County, according to the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS).

Denherder was sentenced by Judge Anthony Monton to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days served and $198 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance, delivery schedule 1, 2, 3 and one count of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture methamphetamine/ecstasy were dismissed.

Denherder’s criminal history includes convictions of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted larceny in a building, and another conviction of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, according to OTIS.

Also sentenced this week:

– Shawn M. Senter, 20, of 1135 N. Riverside Dr., Gurnee, Ill., was found guilty Dec. 22 of controlled substance – possession of a non-narcotic/analogues. He was sentenced to nine months discretionary jail with 15 days imposed and $500 in fines and costs. One count of possession of methamphetamine was dismissed.
