3 injured in 2-car crash

OCSO cruiserSHELBY TWP. — Three people received minor injuries in two-car crash Monday, Feb. 23, at 5:49 a.m. on Oceana Drive near Buchanan Road.

A 2005 Chevy Suburban driven by a 42-year-old Shelby woman was westbound on Buchanan Road and was not able to stop at the stop sign in the snowy conditions and went through the intersection and onto Oceana Drive, an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report states. The Suburban collided with a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling north on Oceana Drive driven by a 37-year-old Shelby man. Both drivers received minor injuries, police stated, as well as the woman’s passenger — a 16-year-old Shelby girl.

Shelby-Benona Fire Department and Oceana County EMS were also dispatched to the scene.

All three accident victims were wearing their seatbelts, according to the report.
