SHELBY — Are you looking for some weekend fun to cure the winter blues? Check out the Second Annual Shelby Winter Blast, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 31.
The winter celebration kicks off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Shelby Rotary Club at the Shelby Congregational Church, featuring the music of Shelby Public Schools music programs. Many fun winter events are on tap, including a snowman/snow sculpture contest; snow golf; a snowshoe race; a chili cook-off; beer and wine tasting; a bon fire with hot cocoa and s’mores; free horse-drawn carriage rides; a quilt show at the village hall; activities for kids and teens at the library; and a basket raffle.
