PENTWATER — The Pentwater Service Club has scheduled a Jan. 8 business meeting that will include an update by State Rep. Jon Bumstead (R-Newaygo) regarding the legislature’s plans for 2015.
On Jan. 15, Harry Burkholder, a community planner at Resilient Michigan, will give an overview of this new community engagement and technical services program that helps communities be more resilient to climate variability, extreme weather events and global economic challenges.
The proposed Gateway to Success Academy is the focus of West Michigan Educational Leadership Group President Jamie Bandstra’s Jan. 22 program. Bandstra will talk about the effort to start a new charter school serving the area that would replace the current Journey Junior/Senior High School that he currently runs.
Shelby Gem Factory President Larry Kelly will provide an overview of his company’s products, customers and opportunities, Jan. 29.
Between September and June, service club meetings are held at Pentwater Public School every Thursday beginning at 11:15 a.m., with lunch following at 12:15 p.m. New members are welcome. More info can be found at service club.
