78th District Court sentencings

HART – The following were sentenced in 78th District Court Monday, Dec. 8:

–      Alexander Edward Christiansen, 29, of 3712 Dublin St., Grand Rapids, was found guilty Dec. 8 of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. He was also found guilty Dec. 8 of driving while license suspended and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail and $100 in fines and costs. He was also found guilty Dec. 8 of transporting open intoxicants and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $100 in fines and costs. All three convictions reportable to SOS.

–      Seth James Gilde, 21, of 3788 E. Monroe Rd., White Cloud, was found guilty Dec. 8 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,040 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

–      Jacob Mathew Ustick, 190 E. Fruitvale Rd., Montague, was found guilty Dec. 8 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; $1,055 in fines and costs; and AHSE. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

–      Jose Luis Herevia-Garza, 21, of 2919 E. Scout Rd., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 23 of moving violation causing impairment. He was sentenced Dec. 8 to 93 days discretionary jail; $1,110 in fines and costs; one year probation; not to possess or purchase a firearm; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to counseling and testing. Court to leave restitution open for one year.
