HART — Three people received minor injuries in a two-car accident on 72nd Avenue near the Colonial Golf Course Wednesday evening, Dec. 3, due to an extremely icy road.
It was originally reported that a person may have been trapped in a vehicle, but no accident victims were trapped.
The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Oceana EMS, the Hart Police Department and the Hart Fire Department responded to the scene.
A Honda civic traveling southbound on 72nd Avenue and a Pontiac Grand Am traveling northbound collided, police at the scene reported. The civic, which contained two people, went off the road and landed on the west side of the roadway. There was only one person in the Grand Am, police said.
The accident scene is near the Hart Public Schools campus, and police were busy directing traffic of students and parents entering and exiting the school grounds for athletic practices.
A responder at the scene said none of the three victims were teens or children, and a female victim may have suffered a broken leg.
No other information was immediately available.
