LUDINGTON – A former area school administrator and the CEO of one of Ludington’s largest manufacturers have been appointed to the board of directors of West Shore Bank and West Shore Bank Corporation. The appointments were made at the Board meeting held on November 17.

Jeanne Oakes is currently the executive director of Community Foundation for Mason County. In 2009 she retired as superintendent of Mason-Lake ISD and Oceana ISD, concluding a 35-plus year career in education which included being a high school and middle school teacher, principal, college instructor, and consultant. Oakes currently serves on the Ludington and Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce board and is on the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital board of directors. She was a finalist for Superintendent of the Year in 2008, and received the Michigan Association of School Administrators President’s Community Service Award in 2007.

scatena_jimJim Scatena is the president and CEO of FloraCraft Corporation in Ludington and has served on numerous public and not-for-profit boards and agencies. He currently serves on the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital board of directors. In 2011 Scatena was awarded the Meritorious Award of Honor for Service to the International Craft and Hobby Industry and in 2008 he was named Business Leader of the Year by the Ludington and Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce.
