Hart principal honored

HART — Spitler Elementary School Principal Amy Taranko is the MEMSPA (Michigan Elementary Middle Schools Principals Association) Regional Principal of the Year for Region 12.

Taranko’s honor, which was announced Wednesday Nov. 12, is one of 13 in Michigan. Each of the 13 regions selects a representative as its principal of the year. Region 12’s requirement for the honor focuses on a “body of work” — how the principals work with staff; create data teams; create a collaborative culture; and other accomplishments.
