‘Day of the Dead’

day-of-the-dead-celebration-bostonHART — The Oceana Hispanic Center will offer a community program about Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Oceana Home Partnership, 11 E. Washington St.

Participants will learn about the history of Dia de Los Muertos and traditions that are practiced by many Hispanics in the U.S. and abroad. They will make papel picado, a cut paper decoration that is used at many holidays and celebrations, and decorate calaveras, which are sugar skulls, as part of the interactive evening.
