Fun Halloween events this weekend

zombie 1SHELBY — Gear up for a ghoulishly good time during the Shelby Area Zombie Walk this Saturday at 2 p.m.

Register at Getty Park, located at the corner of School and Sixth streets, at 1:30 p.m. Zombies will saunter from the park down Sixth Street and continue down Michigan Avenue to downtown Shelby. The “undead” will then turn left onto Third Street and conclude the walk at the Shelby Area District Library. Snacks and awards begin at 3 p.m., and the library will show two movies starting at 4 p.m.

All Hart elementary students (pre-K through fifth grade) are invited to the annual Pirates in the Park celebration this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hart Football Stadium. The event was originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon, but the new time frame was recently announced.

Children are invited to dress up in Halloween outfits for trick-or-treating and sports games.

In case of bad weather, activities will move to the Hart High School gym.

The event is hosted by Hart High School student-athletes, along with area businesses and parents.
