Service club announces October speakers

PENTWATER — The Pentwater Service Club has planned a busy month of interesting speakers.

Oct. 9: Dr. Gerry Taylor, a retired NASA scientist, will discuss health matters relating to Apollo and Soyuz space flight crews.

Oct. 16: Jim Jensen, president of CherrCo, the Ludington-based tart cherry cooperative, will provide an overview of the company

Oct. 23: Lindsay Brieschke, director of public policy of the Alzheimer’s Association, will speak on policy change to support caregivers and advance cures and research for Alzheimer’s disease.

Oct. 30: Dr. Gregory Green, a Muskegon-based psychiatrist who is affiliated with several area hospitals, will discuss the causes and treatment of schizophrenia.

The club meets at Pentwater Public School every Thursday at 11:15 a.m. Lunch is available at 12:15 p.m. Programs typically feature area leaders discussing topics of interest or local needs. The club welcomes new members, and more information can be found at serviceclub.org.
