78th District Court sentencings

HART – The following were sentenced Monday in 78th District Court:

–      Erika Romero, 34, of 1047 Pineway St., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 4 of operating while impaired. She was sentenced Sept. 8 to $1,090 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail; and Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE). Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

–      Jason McCord Brown, 39, of 6120 Fowler Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating a motor vehicle without security. He was sentenced to $440 in fines and costs and one year discretionary jail.

–      Vern Vincente Chimel, 32, of 321 E. Fountain Rd., Free Soil, pleaded no contest Sept. 8 to disorderly person – jostling. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

–      Foster Lewis Mudget, 23, of 2688 E. VanBuren Rd., Hart, pleaded no contest July 29 to third-degree retail fraud. He was sentenced to a $75 fine and 93 days discretionary jail.

–      Mark Anthony Pless, 41, of 4990 E. Baseline Rd., White Cloud, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; must report to jail to serve three weekends or complete Impact Weekend; outpatient treatment; six months probation; $1,565 in fines and costs; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to counseling, testing and searches as required by probation officer. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, was dismissed.

–      Rodolfo Hernandez, Jr., 22, of 513 Griswold St., Hart, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating a motor vehicle without security. He was sentenced to $440 in fines and costs and one year discretionary jail.

–      Alexander Arthur Harsch, 21, of 633 Holton Whitehall Rd., Whitehall, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail; and $1,140 in fines and costs. Court left restitution open for 90 days. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating under the influence of liquor causing serious injury was dismissed.

–      Levi James Mitchell, 19, of 768 Hill Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Sept. 8 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to AHSE; 93 days discretionary jail; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
