SHELBY — The inaugural Shelby Summer Street Fest is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The highlight event is a car show on Michigan Avenue downtown. Participants will vie for a “Best in Show” award and a “People’s Choice” award.
Local rock-n-roll group Redeye will perform from 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. The Cedar Creek Cloggers will perform from 11:30 a.m. to noon. A DJ will play music from noon to 1 p.m.
A Kids’ Corner on Michigan Avenue and Fourth Street will offer fun kids’ activities including pinatas.
A Farm Market and Craft Show at the Rail Trail Pavilion will feature fresh produce, soaps, knitted items, gourmet food products and Petoskey stones. So far, 16 vendors have registered.
Fresh food vendors will serve Mexican food, grilled brats, cold drinks and local fair-type foods.
