HART — The following were sentenced recently in 27th Circuit Court:

-Rodney Jay Smith, 45, of 4181 S. 198th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty June 9 of operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL), third offense. He was sentenced July 21 to 11 months in jail with credit for 59 days served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with six months forthwith; $750 in fines and costs; fines and costs due within 90 days of release from jail (either being Oceana or Newaygo County). One count of allowing a suspended person to operate, second offense, was dismissed.

-Michael Patrick Canning, 50, of 3893 E. Yonker Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Jan.

13 of failure to stop at a serious personal injury accident and allowing a suspended person to operate. He was sentenced July 28 to two six-month concurrent jail terms to be served at the court’s discretion with credit for 184 days served for each term; $1,502.82 in restitution; and $175 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS – serious injury was dismissed.

-Brent Thomas Fisher, 23, of 750 Waterford Court, Lake Zurich, Ill., was found guilty July 28 of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of marijuana. He was sentenced to six months in jail to be served at the court’s discretion with credit for 184 days served; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and $125 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance, possession of marijuana was dismissed.

He was sentenced to six months in jail; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and $125 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance, delivery – schedule 1, 2, 3 and one count of controlled substance, possession of a non-narcotic were dismissed.

-James Michael Schulthess, 23, of 1359 Harrier Ridge, Kalamazoo, was found guilty July 28 of of controlled substance, use of a non-narcotic. He was sentenced to six months in jail; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and $125 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance, delivery – schedule 1, 2, 3 and one count of controlled substance, possession of a non-narcotic were dismissed.
