District Court sentencings

HART – The following were sentenced this week in 78th District Court:

–      Dylan Wyatt King, 18, of 382 Maple St., Shelby, was found guilty July 28 of larceny less than $200. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. One count of larceny over $200/less than $1,000 was dismissed.

–      Terry Lee Young, 32, of 8307 Madison Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty July 29 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail; jail time to run concurrent with Newaygo County jail time; $100 in fines and costs (court reduced fines and costs); 93 days discretionary jail; Newaygo County Probation Officer to do an alcohol screening with defendant while in jail and defendant is to complete probation officer’s recommendation. One felony count of fleeing a police officer, fourth degree, was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

–      Joann Marie Foley, 44, of 501 N. Washington Ave., Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty July 28 of operating while impaired. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; outpatient treatment; and $1,040 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

–      Ruby Jean Castro, 33, of 4821 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville, pled no contest July 28 to disorderly person – jostling. She was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence was dismissed.
