HART — The following were sentenced Monday in 27th Circuit Court:
– Jason Carl Godbold, 50, of 20400 Helen St., Detroit, was found guilty June 2 of identity theft. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for 81 days served; $40,400 in restitution; and $198 in fines and costs. Godbold is also facing similar charges in Malcolm County, according to Trooper Todd Goodrich of the Michigan State Police, Hart post. A Hart man was victimized in the case, which involved a banking transaction, Goodrich said. Further investigation into the matter was handled by the Newaygo post of MSP, the trooper said, but the Newaygo detective who handled the case could not be reached for comment.
– Daniel Richard Vannett, 29, of 9471 Old Channel Trail, Montague, was found guilty
May 19 of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of marijuana. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for 29 days served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with four months forthwith; must report to jail by Nov. 1; 18 months probation; $198 in fines and costs; no alcohol/drugs and must submit to testing; must complete treatment programs as directed by probation agent; may not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not use any object as a weapon; must contact probation agent upon placement on probation or release from jail; must allow probation agent into his residence for supervision purposes; must comply with all orders of probation agent; must submit to searches of his person, place or auto as directed by the probation agent; and must seek and maintain legitimate employment.
