ROTHBURY — Electric Forest’s “Roy Price Memorial Food Drive” collected 21,236 meals during this year’s festival — the largest amount yet.

Over 52,000 meals have been collected by EF in the last four years, organizers said.

This year’s donations went to local food pantries at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rothbury Community Church, Lebanon Lutheran Church, Teen Challenge and Shiloh Tabernacle.

Last year, 13,865 meals were collected, which nearly doubled the amount of donations collected in the festival’s first two years combined.

Each year, Electric Forest’s annual food drive encourages patrons to donate non-perishable food items in exchange for a limited edition Electric Forest Food Drive Poster.

The festival’s food drive was renamed the Roy Price Memorial Food Drive in 2012 to honor cherished Electric Forest neighbor and huge food drive supporter, the late Roy Price. Price’s wife, Dolores, continues his legacy as an invaluable food drive supporter.

Electric Forest’s Music In Schools program has donated $20,000 over the years to Shelby Public Schools for the purchase of new band equipment .

This year, the Music In Schools program will donate $10,000 to Shelby High School’s and Montague High School’s music departments, continuing the festival’s vision to help support music curriculum in public schools.
