HART – The following were sentenced Monday in 27th Circuit Court:

–      Troy Alan Highland, 33, of 189 S. 1st St., Shelby, pleaded no contest May 27 to assault – weapon. One count of assault – weapon was dismissed. He was sentenced to six months in jail with credit for two days served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with 30 days forthwith; one year probation; $400 in fines and costs; no alcohol and must submit to testing; must complete treatment programs as directed by probation agent; must complete a psychological evaluation; must complete mental health, domestic violence or other recommended treatment; may not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not use any object as a weapon; must contact probation agent upon placement on probation or release from jail; must comply with orders of probation agent; must allow probation agent into his residence for supervision purposes; must submit to searches of his person, place or auto; must report any police contact, loss of employment or change of residence within 24 hours; and must seek and maintain legitimate employment.

–      Brett Anthony Peoples, 22, of 336 N. 144th Ave., Hart, was found guilty May 20 of

controlled substance delivery – schedule 1, 2, 3. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for two days served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with three months forthwith; one year probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days; $400 in fines and costs; no alcohol or controlled substances and must submit to testing; must complete treatment programs as directed by probation agent; must complete a psychological evaluation; may not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not use any object as a weapon; must allow probation agent into his residence for supervision purposes; must submit to searches of his person, place or auto; and must seek and maintain legitimate employment.

–      John Ryan Thomas, 31, of 2616 W. M-20, New Era, was found guilty May 27 of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture of marijuana. One count of controlled substance, possession less than 25 grams was dismissed. He was sentenced to nine months in jail with credit for one day served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with 30 days forthwith; sentence to run concurrently with his sentence in Muskegon County and he may serve in Muskegon County; driver’s license suspended 180 days; and $198 in fines and costs.

controlled substance, possession less than 25 grams. One count of controlled substance, possession less than 50 grams was dismissed. He was sentenced to nine months in jail with credit for one day served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with 45 days forthwith; one year probation; work release granted; no alcohol or controlled substances and must submit to testing; must use prescription drugs only as prescribed; must complete treatment programs as directed by probation agent; must waive confidentiality and allow disclosure of information to probation agent; must obey all court orders; must possess a valid Michigan identification; may not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not associate with an known felons; may not change residence without prior written permission from probation agent; may not use any object as a weapon; must contact probation agent upon placement on probation or release from jail; must comply with all orders of probation agent; must allow probation agent into his residence for supervision purposes; must submit to searches of his person, place or auto; must report any police contact, loss of employment or change of residence within 24 hours; and must notify probation agent of the service of a personal protection order within 24 hours.
