Rob Splane appointed to Hart City Council

HART — Rob Splane was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Hart City Council Tuesday evening.

Jim Cunningham was also in the running, according to Councilman Jason LaFever. “We only had four members at the start of the meeting and it was split 2-2.

“A fifth council member (Jack Wittman) showed up, but Jim and Rob conferred at Jim’s request and Jim withdrew himself. It was then a unanimous approval by the council,” LaFever said.

Mayor Harold Schaner, Fred Rybarz, Chuck Collard, Wittman and LaFever unanimously appointed Splane. Councilwoman Sara Bizon was not present.

Splane was sworn in by City Manager Stan Rickard and sat in on the remainder of the meeting.
