HART — A 24-year-old Montague man who had been on the lam for three days since a stabbing Sunday has been apprehended, police reported this afternoon.
Jacob C. Kozlowski was captured and arrested by Oceana County Sheriff’s Office deputies yesterday. Kozlowski was staying in a camper on a piece of private property in southern Oceana County near South 100th Avenue, police said. He was charged with felonious assault/assault with a dangerous weapon.
He was arraigned today in 78th District Court and is lodged in jail on a $10,000/10 percent bond.
The OCSO was dispatched to the Hackley-Lakeshore Emergency Room in Shelby Sunday at 10:55 p.m. to investigate a stabbing victim who was being treated there. A 41-year-old Hesperia man suffered a 1-inch long wound to his neck just below his ear where a 3-4 inch long knife had stabbed him.
The man told police he had gotten into an argument with his fiancé’s ex-boyfriend, allegedly Kozlowski, over possession of a cell phone. Deputies tried repeatedly to make contact with Kozlowski, but were unable to track him down.
The victim is expected to fully recover, police said.
