Experience live blues music, Michigan beer, and local food during Silver Lake’s inaugural Blues, Brews & Dunes this Saturday from 6-10 p.m.

This year’s event is a “preview,” and next year it will be a full-day event. It takes place near the beautiful Silver Lake State Park at 8301 W. Hazel Rd. and coincides with the park’s “Blessing of the Duners,” set for Sunday at noon.

Two blues musicians are scheduled to perform. Big Boss Blues from Kalamazoo will take the stage from 6-8 p.m. Headliners Hank Mowery and the Hawktones will perform from 8-10 p.m.

Michigan craft beers will be available, including brews from the Mount Pleasant Brewing Company and Right Brain Brewery in Traverse City.

Food vendors will cook up chicken wings, ribs, jambalaya, pierogies and brats.

Free festival tickets will be given to guests who stay at: American Host Inn, Comfort Inn, Dunes Waterfront Resort, Gateway Motel, Hart Motel & Suites, Silver Hills Campground, Silver Lake Resort & Campground, Sierra Sands Family Lodge and Silver Sands Resort. Just mention “blues” to get free tickets.

Tickets for the event are $3. Kids 12 and younger are free.
