Silver Lake Sand Dunes – Hart Visitor Center Volunteers Wanted

Location: Silver Lake Sand Dunes – Hart Visitor Center, 2388 N. Comfort Drive, Hart, Mi 49420
HART — The Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Silver Lake Dunes – Hart Visitor Bureau are looking for volunteers to staff the visitors’ center this summer from May 19 – Sept. 13.
The center is located at 2388 N. Comfort Drive, off of Polk Road, next to the Subway of Hart.
Center volunteers help promote the area and its businesses, answer questions, meet and greet visitors, operate the phones, open and close the center and learn more about the area and volunteer events. Volunteers are asked to work four hours a week or four hours as needed.
Volunteers are trained through different media:
1) Attend the Members’ Brochure Swap and Semi-Annual Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting on May 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Dunes Waterfront Resort. All Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend.
Members introduce themselves, share new services, products, or businesses, swap brochures with other members and provide the Visitor Center with their brochures, menus, and cards. Volunteers will also be updated on the area by attending the chamber of commerce semi-annual meeting with updates from: Silver Lake State Park, Hart Main Street, the visitor bureau and more.
2) Attend the Spring Training Breakfast and Member Tours on Friday, May 16 at 9 a.m. at Country Dairy of New Era. Members will provide volunteers with thank-you goodies to enjoy. Following breakfast, there will be a tours at Country Dairy and Lewis Farm Market & Petting Farm.
3) Review the website at www.ThinkDunes.com , where all area businesses and attractions are listed.
4) Volunteers will have access to frequently asked questions documents. These documents are updated and maintained all year round.
5) Plus the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director, Deanna Helmlinger, and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes – Hart Visitor Bureau Marketing Executive Andrea Hekkema, will be available to answer questions and provide guidance. Both, Deanna and Andrea’ offices are in the Visitor Center building.
6) Shadow an experienced volunteer(s).
