27th Circuit Court sentencings, as of April 9, 2014

HART – The following were sentenced recently in 27th Circuit Court:

–          Mario Arangure-Diaz, 57, of 9336 S. Oceana Dr., Montague, was found guilty Jan. 31 of aggravated assault. He was sentenced April 7 to one year in jail with credit for 92 days served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion; one year probation; $125 in fines and costs; no alcohol/drugs and must submit to testing; must use prescription drugs as prescribed; must complete treatment programs as directed by probation agent; may not engage in any assaultive behavior; may not associate with any known felons; may not use any object as a weapon; must allow probation agent into home; must submit to searches; and must seek and maintain legitimate employment. One count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed.

–          Randy Wayne Hammond, 36, of 976 E. Filburn, Scottville, was found guilty Nov. 4, 2013 of breaking and entering with intent and habitual offender, second conviction.  He was sentenced April 7 to one year in jail with credit for 228 days served; $1,655 in restitution; and $198 in fines and costs. One count of breaking and entering with intent and two counts of larceny $1,000-$2,000 were dismissed.

–          Sidney B. Fuller, 51, of 2217 E. Taylor Rd., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 24 of controlled substance – delivery less than 50 grams. He was sentenced April 7 to six months in jail with credit for two days served and $198 in fines and costs. Two counts of controlled substance – delivery less than 50 grams were dismissed. He must report to jail April 26.

–          Mitchell Harrison Ghea, 24, of 406 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN, was found guilty Dec. 17, 2013 of controlled substance delivery, schedule 1, 2, 3. He was sentenced April 2 to one year in jail with credit for one day served; sentence to be served at the court’s discretion with 30 days forthwith; and $400 in fines and costs.

–          James Anthony Newman, 26, of 4267 Lupin Ave., Fremont, was found guilty March 29 of second-degree home invasion and probation violation. He was sentenced to $4,514.94 in restitution and $128 in fines and costs. “Defendant mat be released from jail today and is given credit for time served, provided he make monthly payments in the amount of $50 per month,” states an order signed by the judge April 7.

–          Steven Daniel Knop, 33, of 1267 Country Club Circle, Arab, AL, was found guilty April 7 of controlled substance use of a non-narcotic. Counts of controlled substance delivery, less than 50 grams; controlled substance delivery, schedule 1, 2, 3; and controlled substance, imitation manufacture distribution were dismissed. He was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.
