Exchange student dinner

HART – Meet local exchange students and learn about their countries while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and dinner during the Exchange Student International Dinner Thursday, April 24, beginning at 6 p.m., at Hart United Methodist Church, at 308 S. State St.

Juan Ortiz Carrera, Hart Rotary Club’s youth exchange student, will provide a presentation about Ecuador, his home country. Sujaree “Garfield” Pogwattanakul, Shelby Rotary Club’s youth exchange student, will talk about Thailand, her home country.

Other area exchange students will have “country boards” for participants to view. Attendees can also find out how to become involved as an exchange student or host family.

All local exchange students and their host families, and local students who traveled to other countries, will be invited to participate.

The cost to attend is $12 per person. Make reservations soon, because space is limited, and the deadline isFriday, April 18. Call Kathleen Premer at 231-873-4461 or Tammy Carey at 231-861-8335 to reserve a spot.
